Hey cHEwY gum gums

It’s been two weeks since I’ve been to India and it’s taken me some time to delve into the countless photos. I’d definitely recommend India as a place to visit, if only because it offers such unique experiences. I met so many cool authors at the Bookaroo Festival, including funny author Samit Basu

I also got to know a few gaming authors from Singapore, Adan and Felicia Low, who write the awesome Sherlock Sam series. I got the first book and I want to read more now. I hope to be there very soon 🙂

The buzz from the families and kids are still ringing in my ears. One school came from Nepal and gave me a few gifts. You can’t help but feel lucky to be a writer. The following day after I got back, I went to Liverpool Library for the SWF Roadshow. A chance for schools around Western Sydney to see some wonderful authors. I got to rub shoulders with Jackie French, James O Louglin and Francis Watts. I realise that kids are the same, no matter where you are 🙂

Now the school finishes this week, so technically I can go on holidays now haha. But I’m still keen to write over Christmas and New Years. I want to finish off a draft of The Other Christy and also another short story, called ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ for a Ford Street anthology. Hopefully I’ll chip away, and also enjoy the cricket, beach and other Summer goodies. But I want to hit the ground running, and make sure 2016 is going to be a jam packed year. Yep, I’m thinking that far ahead hehe.

    Great to see this, Oliver.

If you can think of anyone you met who might be interested in Room to Read, let me know. Next year we have such a huge landmark ahead and I’m keen to involve anyone who might want to help.

Looking forward to seeing you on 2nd Jan!
