Wow, authors really get a workout in Book Week…I had 5 full days of talks and I’ve got 2 more weeks to go! A huge shout out to guys like James Roy and Michael Gerald Bauer, well not that I have much voice to shout, I’ve got to ask them and other authors how they keep their voices intact.

I guess because my talks are more like zany comedy performances and I have to gauge the audience’s sense of humour in the first five minutes. I’ve been lucky to have had great responses from all the schools during Book Week. From the weird but cool pluck a chook comp from Mt Terry PS (where you can win frozen chooks for good behaviour!) to the deadly crows invading Luther College in Melbourne.

On Friday I went back to Glen Waverly Secondary College…it marks one year of doing my first school talk in Melbourne 🙂

I also went to SBS for an interview with the Thai Radio program.

My Thai is scratchy so it was a mix of Thai, Lao and English from me hehe. I got to speak about my Thai-riffic! and Con-nerd books and also talk about my MWF appearances.

Speaking of the Melbourne Writers Festival, I’m going to the opening launch party tonight at Fed Square. I like the Sydney Writers Festival but the wharfs are no match for the sleek and modern Fed Square and ACMI 🙂

More on the MWF over the next week, with radio and TV appearances, school visits and performances thrown in…will I get that famed photo with Andy Griffiths??? Stay tuned hahahahaha
