Hey cHEwY gum gums!
It’s time for another round of awesome creators doing amazing things online!
What started out as a podcast (which I’ve been on a few times) has morphed into a bookish hub for writers, readers and teachers. The podcast is still brilliant, a mix of adult and children authors talking about all kinds of issues. Founder and English-teacher Dani Vee has also launched a series of teaching resources on kids books such as Derek Dool Super Cool by Adrian Beck, with many more on the way.
Bonus tip, follow her Instagram page for some stunning sunset shots hehe.
The Dynamic Duo of Andrew McDonald and Ben Wood’s popular REAL Pigeons Fight Crime series is the perfect blend of crazy and superhero-action. They’ve started their own club for their fans, as well as anyone wanting to get into writing and drawing their own cartoons. The Super Coo Club has a ton of videos and activities sent straight to your inbox for hours of fun!
Anna Whatley is an YA and children’s author who has this fabtastic interview series up on YouTube. Yeah, I’ve been featured on this series as well haha. But what I love about these interviews is how laid-back they are. Anna puts you at ease and when I was on, I ended up going on all kinds of tangents. It is fun listening to writers with their guard down haha. This is perfect for having on in the background, a conversation where you can get some wisdom for your writing, among other things.
Bonus Tip #2, you should totally read Anna’s debut novel, Peta Lyre’s Rating Normal hehe
R.A Spratt is one of the best author performers on the scene, now you can enjoy her masterful voices and witty storytelling on her weekly podcast series. I’ve attached a link to one of my faves, Nanny Piggins and the Problem Cat. It’s not just for bedtime, but during car or bus/train rides, relaxing and other times where you need a laugh or three.
One of my inspirations for my YouTube Channel’s Book Reviews (plugplugplug haha) is Karen Tyrrell, an author YouTuber who is chugging along and has built up a nice setlist of book reviews, writing tips and giveaways of great picture books. I love her energy that she brings to each review and reading, as well as dressing up in costume.
Let me know if there’s any other recommendations that I can check out for the next installment π
