Hey hey!

I’ve had fun doing plenty of radio interviews for Con-nerd, speaking about nerds and chasing your dreams. I went to ABC studios for Life Matters with Richard Aedy (you can catch the interview here).

Trying to look as casual as I can haha

Then I went to Penguin HQ in Sydney for an interview with Mania magazine. Lots of kid-centric questions like favourite superpower and superhero. Lots of gossip about my embarrassing moments and weirdest kids in my class haha.

Check out the pretty Penguins πŸ™‚

I popped in to say hi to Heather, my fabtastic editor. And I finally got to take a photo of the giant Puffin toy! I’ve been trying to work out a way to ‘borrow’ it for day or two hehe.

The Puffin family πŸ™‚

I also went to K-Zone magazine for an interview with the very cool editor. He’s telling me about his cool job, getting sent sample toys, books and games…the things get auctioned off for charity once a year and no, I didn’t stay there long enough to take something haha. I can imagine getting busted for trying to take that light saber. But seriously, what a cool job to write for a kids mag!

Coolest desk ever!

Now compare that to my desk haha…Tristin Bancks has a blog where he invites authors to talk about their writing spaces. Check out it now to see what Deb Abela’s desk looks like. You’ll be able to catch mine next week when we meet at Voices on the Coast πŸ™‚ Β He’s got a cool NEW book called My Life and other stuff I made up, it’s a short story collection, a throw back to the Paul Jennings/Andrew Daddo books, crazy adventures with Gus Gordon going loose with pictures. Perfect to read out loud!
