Han-loo!
Last Thursday I went to have some drinks and nibbles at Penguin’s Sydney HQ with other fellow authors. There were some new andĀ familiar faces.
Hooray for Penguin!
I got to browse some new titles that are coming out in the year, including Melina Marchetta’s sequel to Finnikin of the Rock, Froi from the Exiles and an exciting YA novel, Days like these by first time Penguinette Alison Stewart.
The gang's all here š
I’m enjoying the school hols this week, putting the finishing touches to my third book, Punchlines. I’m giving to Penguin after I come back from the Whitsundays Literature Festival. I went down to The Children’s Bookshop in Beecroft to do a writing workshop with some excited kids. Plus I got to walk away with some new flashy books, Yahoo!
I can't wait to read this!
I also heard from one of my friends from my writers’ group who has just been snapped up by an agent and is ready to embark on his writing journey. I’m so excited for him, four years ago he was slugging away on his stories and now things are looking up for him. I can’t wait to attend his first book launch. Four published authors have come from our writers group and I reckon there’s more on the verge of getting a book. Maybe it’s just luck,Ā perseveranceĀ and self-belief, but this journey’s better with company š Never give up!
