Han-loo!
Well Con-nerd is edging closer to getting printed. I went to Penguin HQ to do the final page proof checks for Con-nerd with Heather. There were a couple of things to iron out, good thing they were sorted out now and not when the book comes out haha. I’ve also started on teaching notes, writing about my own inspiration for the story. More on that later…
I’m going to the wheeler centre in Melbourne tomorrow for a PD day about the Australian Curriculum. I have an audience of secondary teachers and librarians who will have a copy of Thai-riffic! I’m excited because I’ll get to plug…I mean talk about Con-nerd as well. I’m starting to brew up some new jokes and pieces for my school talks when I do promote Con-nerd. It’ll be a celebration of all things nerdy, that’s for sure.
I’m also going to the Newington Literary Festival this week, doing some workshops and talks for Year 7 and 8 boys. So I reckon it’ll be choas, the good kind I hope, I mean how much damage can I do in the morning? I guess that’s a challenge then hehe. But yeah, I’m also being one of the judges for their Theatresports performance on Friday. All of this exposure to these guys will only add fuel to my first draft of Punchlines…I’m nearly up to 25,000 words and nearly the final climax. It’s not pretty but it’s a first draft after all 🙂
Speaking of which, I recently did a fun skit for the NRL Footy Show, where some Parramatta Eel players tried their best to eat some hot and spicy food. Could it be a future Thai-riffic! story? Mmmm 🙂
