I got my SCBWI (Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators) membership pack this week, just in time to attend the SCBWI Christmas Dinner last night. It was another splendid opportunity to chat to fellow writers, illustrators, librarians and publishers. The guest speaker was the fabtastic Deborah Abela   It was encouraging to see that successful authors still have their ups and downs. She’s proof that writers can overcome their doubts (and it’s okay to have doubts too).

If you believe in your work, then it’ll work! It’s the sort of thing you want to hear from someone as cool as Deb!
