What is the working title of your next book? Bookish

Where did your idea come from for the book? I wanted to write a story about my love of books as a little kid, which turned into an obsession. Plus the whole thing about e-books vs p-books (paper books haha)

What genre does your book fall under? Humour/Middle-Junior ficton

What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition? Michael Cena for the lead role (HE is a genre) with Jonah Hill being his best friend. That’s all I can think of so far.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? When a bookish boy is forced to let go of his huge collection, he discovers another way to hold onto his books.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? No, it’s getting published by Penguin. I’m represented by The Author’s Agent (double shameless plugs)

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript? It took me 2 months, give or take 🙂

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? Diary of a Wimpy Kid (without the pictures), Morris Gleitzman’s Puppy Fat, Sticky Beak, Bumface etc (the list could go on!),

Who or what inspired you to write this book? I wanted to write a book about the love of reading and what books mean to kids and adults alike. It’s also a love-letter to librarians and bookstores!

What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest? Well, it’s a book about books-and will make you either cherish your book collection or dread letting them go someday.
