Hey hey!
Heather Curdie, my editor from Penguin Books, has given me a stack of editorial notes on Thai-riffic! I’m blessed to have such an experienced editor on board the Thai-riffic! Express. She’s given me lots of think about the plot, characters and the short stories themselves. It’s freaky to think that she knows as much as I do about my work.
Right now, my head is spinning with my own notes, thoughts and ideas. I’m geninuely excited seeing Thai-riffic! evolve again. Remember I said that it started out as a teacher based comedy called Grow Up Sir? It’s come a long way since then, and each draft has been shaped by others. Comments have come from close friends, people from my writers group and my awesome agent. But while I consider their feedback, I only take what I feel is right. My heart has the final say.
One of the perks of being a writer is that you never stop learning and refining your craft. I think this editing process will make me a stronger writer, and being in very capable hands has fuelled my confidence that Thai-riffic! will be something special 🙂
Of course it’ll be hard work. But in the wise words of Miley Cyrus, it’s all about the climb!
I meet up with Heather next week at Penguin HQ. Watch this space…
