Hi everyone!
It’s all systems go for my second book Connerd. I’ve finished my editing of the page proofs and seen the final cover and blurb. I wish I can show you but then I’ll have to…you can guess the rest 🙂
But yeah, I’m really thrilled about this story. It’s different from Thai-riffic! and yet still retains the same cHEwY humour from Lengy’s adventure.
So now it’s conwards to the next book, Punchlines. I’m halfway through my first draft, and just free-writing it all the way, that means that I’m not really thinking about the plot. I have five key scenes that I want to get to. That’s not to say that I’m writing blind. But I’ve tried to map it all out and end up writing stiffly, afraid to take scenes in different directions…so this way is better 🙂
I went to a high school to give a keynote address for Harmony Day. The school went all out with the day, with dance, music, food (of course hehe) and clothing all on display. It was like seeing one of my Thai-riffic! stories come to life.
I’ve been reading some radical books, most recently was Simon Higgins’ manga in words, Moonshadow 3: Twilight War. I’ve been following the adventures of Moonshadow and his pals, and I love the authentic Japanese terms throughout.
At the moment, Gayle Forman’s book Where She Went is taking my breath away. What a heart-jerking read and it’s tailor made for a teen movie. Now I wanna read its prequel, If I Stay 🙂
Until next time…keep on chillin’
